BYBROWN celebrates 5 years with their new iconic raincoats WAVE and SPIRIT, and just opened pop-up shop ‘FIVE’ in the nine streets. An unexpected tale in engineered rainwear with tailoring at its heart, BYBROWN continues to reinvent the idea of outdoor protection, using technology, sustainability and fashion as its guiding force.
BYBROWN is proud to present their iconic new collection of two raincoats, launching at their pop-up shop FIVE on November 14 th , in celebration of their anniversary. Created 5 years ago by designer Melanie Brown, the brand is award-winning for their design expertise in technical rainwear. The collection is made for women: reinventing in what is traditionally a masculine category and substituting the predictable boxy shape of all-weather gear with an elegant, tailored look. The story began with AGILE, a tailored raindress, when founder Melanie Brown discovered a form-fitting couture dress she was working on could be engineered for cycling in the rain. This dress went on to win the International A’design Award and was featured in a collaboration with Vogue Italia during Milan Fashion Week. All her coats are sustainably and ecologically manufactured in Europe (made in part from recycled coffee grounds and recycled polyester), and with tactile Bluesign® industry- approved materials.
SPIRIT
SPIRIT is a cocooning raincoat with a detachable lining, which in winter protects and warms in temperatures of down to -15ºc. A 2-in-1 raincoat, the recycled polyester lining performs as a standalone coat in itself—the detached part makes for the perfect waterproof mid-season and summer protection. It features the same signature cape construction as WAVE. It falls to just above the ankles where the hem can be adjusted to create the perfect silhouette. The waist can be synched to fit the body. It offers a distinctive look, alongside protection that empowers and complements a woman’s shape.
WAVE
has a feminine, urban feel and is perfectly weatherproof. It is made from 3-layered technical fabric with a breathable membrane. This coat adds a contemporary touch to the wardrobe—with a tailored construction over the arm that extends into a caped feature, and a draped silhouette that flows over the shoulders and back.
